“It would take an hour just in driving around,” I complained to myself.

I had made arrangements to take two AWANA girls, Shaaraim and my daughter, Jenny, to witness to new girls who had visited the club. I don’t remember what else I wanted to do that day, but my complaints were short-lived anyway. At the time, I had been learning about being an obedient servant to my Lord. I knew if I really saw myself as a servant, and God as my Lord, then He should have full freedom to ask me to do or say anything, anywhere, 24/7.

I had already asked for prayer for these girls from my “e-vangelism team.” This faithful handful prays for people as I send them e-mails about different witnessing opportunities. They had been praying for the salvation of five girls visiting AWANA at our church. Already at the last club meeting, Brittany prayed to receive Christ.

The next day we were on our way to visit Jacki, Samantha, and Krystal. The three girls were playing a few houses away in someone’s driveway. One of the mothers gave me permission to go talk to them. They might have already been Christians, but Samantha prayed anyway. While I was sharing, three other girls came on bicycles and heard the Gospel, too! One, Megan, was already a Christian.

What an awesome God! As a result of prayers, seven girls heard the Gospel, two learned about witnessing, and two received Christ! It was a small investment of time with a BIG eternal return!

I am still learning to lay aside my own agenda for His. Remembering this story reminds me that His plans for my days are better than my plans.
